Speaker: Sasha Fisher - Co-Founder and Executive Director of Spark MicroGrant
Sasha moved to Rwanda in 2010 to launch Spark, an NGO which applies a proactive, group based microgranting model. Since led the organization to work in three countries, build 75 community partnerships, and support 20 local facilitators reaching over 64,000 people in the first four years. Spark enables each community partner to launch a social impact project, such as a school, farm or health center and gain the confidence to continue driving their own development. Sasha holds a BA from the University of Vermont in Studio Art and a self-designed major of Human Security; a paradigm for development that recognizes the rising legitimacy of non-state actors in securing basic human needs.
